    I’ve read somewhere recently of how every 9 seconds a woman is battered in the United States. At the risk of sound ignorant, I’ll be honest I did not know the situation was this still bad for the women of America. Even though there’s still so much to be done in terms of gender equality in this country, I’ve never imagined such tragic statistic to be part of this country’s present. Now more than ever we need people to step up.
