Sit down in your favorite lawn chair for a little over ten minutes and sip some iced tea. Find out about a little-known story involving Susan B. Anthony and the 4th of July. Doris Stevens wrote this splendid piece in 1920. It’s the first chapter of her book, “Jailed for Freedom,” and you can listen to it right now. There are surprises all over this blog. This is one of them. The 4th of July story is about two thirds into the podcast, but it’s worth waiting for.
We should be taking advantage of the many opportunities that Susan B. Anthony carved out for us. She gave her life for this cause and never lived to reap the benefits.
Now, this audio was much longer but I stuck it out and heard the gem you were talking about.
